Inde – Delta confirme la licence de casino pour le Denzong Regency Hotel

Delta Corp, India’s largest publicly traded gaming company, has now confirmed that it will be operating Sikkim’s third land-based casino having signed a license agreement to operate a casino within the Denzong Regency Hotel, in Gangtok, Sikkim.

Reports that the Denzong Regency had been given a license began to circulate in April but have now been confirmed by Delta.

Delta Managing Director Ashish Kapadia said: “Delta Corp Limited would like to inform that it has signed a leave and license agreement for premises in in the Denzong Regency Hotel, Gantok, Sikkim, to operate a casino. Delta has obtained a provisional licence from the Government of Sikkim under the Sikkim Casino Act 2002. We are in the process of refurbishing and getting the premises casino ready which should be completed in the next three months. Delta, in pursuing its strategy of expanding its gaming imprint will now have a presence in Sikkim, operating a live gaming casino offering approximately 150 gaming positions, thereby catering to the eastern market. Delta will this, in addition to three offshore and one onshore casino in Goa, will strengthen its presence by adding this Casino in Sikkim, making it a dominant and formidable player in the Indian gaming and entertainment space.”

Les analystes estiment qu'un casino de l'hôtel Denzong Regency bénéficierait d'un emplacement plus pratique et stratégique car il est plus proche de la ville de Gangtok.

The hotel is the only 5 Star Luxury Mountain Retreat in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, at a height of 6,000 feet with the towering Mt. Kanchenjunga peak in the background.

Sikkim is a small state in northwest of the country, bordered by Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. It has also opened up betting shops across the state. It is one of three states, along with Goa and Daman, that is allowed to offer casinos.

Delta Corp a récemment obtenu une licence pour développer un casino terrestre dans son hôtel Deltin Suites à Goa, marquant le premier pas de l'entreprise dans le domaine des jeux de hasard à Goa.

Delta, who currently operates two floating casinos in Goa; the Deltin Royale and Deltin Jack, said the casino would be built alongside its five-star, 106-room hotel.
